Index –  Grain, Vapor, Ray

Conception for an index for the publication "Grain, Vapor, Ray –  Textures of the Anthropocence", which accompanied the Anthrophocene Project at Haus der Kulturen der Welt / HKW in Berlin.

Edited by Katrin Klingan, Ashkan Sepahvand, Christoph Rosol, Bernd M. Scherer

The idea to create a special index for Grain, Vapor, Ray stems from the problem that the books just by itself predetermines tha way it's gonna be read. But the idea of GVR was to open itself up to many different ways of reading. The concept originally included more chapters than the two realized ones (Index of Authors, Index of Terms) – e.g. the Index of Images, the Index of Time, etc.. And the idea was to use only half the format of the book and very thin paper, so that the "index" would become a sort of bookmarker. Due to the binding of the book the production was not possible and only 2 chapter remained.
